Service Description

COURSE DESCRIPTION POINTED PEN PERSONALITIES Spirited, lively, casual…….this 3 day class will explore the fun side of copperplate script, as we learn how to modify the classic form to produce more “dressed down” alphabets. Shedding the refinement and “dressed up” persona of copperplate, we will nod to the classic, but add some elements to change to a more informal personality. We will start with a review of the classics, and find by changing characteristics such as slant, x-height, weight and shape, we can design multiple alphabet personalities. MATERIAL LIST Oblique pen holder, or straight holder is you are left-handed your favorite pointed pen nibs, such as Hunt 22, 56 or Gillott 303 or 404, Nikko G, Leonardt Principal, or Zebra G nib a good quality layout bond paper, such as 9” x 12” Canson Pro Layout Marker Sumi Moon Palace black ink, or McCaffrey’s Black a tube of gouache to change from the black DATE AND TIME The class will be three sessions of 2 hours each on Fridays, April 5, 12 and 19. You must have Zoom loaded on your computer, please email me if you need help setting this up.
