Service Description
Introduction to Brush Lettering Thursday, Feb. 20 and Friday, Feb. 21 Beginner The pointed brush is an immensely useful tool and possesses a lively and spirited personality when used with lettering. In this class, we will start from the beginning, learning the technique and movement needed to form basic strokes. Working with a simple alphabet, we will study the letterforms of the lower case and capitals, before moving on to alternate letters and flourishes to add even more personality. This tool is very adaptable to various writing surfaces, and is a good choice for textured paper, as well as a quick and easy way to letter 'on the fly.' Supplies: Sakura Koi Coloring Brush Pen Pentel Touch Sign Pen (for smaller writing) Watercolor Brush Round, size 2-5, if you would like to try writing with a 'hair' brush, (this is optional). My favorite brand is Princeton, AquaElite, but any watercolor brush with a very good point will do. Several tubes of Gouache if using a watercolor round brush Carson Pro Marker Layout Pad
