COPPERPLATE UP CLOSE Description: By studying basic but important details about the copperplate form, we can elevate this hand to go from fairly simple to elegant, refined and lyrical. We will take a VERY CLOSE look at all the copperplate lower case forms. Through a series of exercises, we will study the structure, slant, turns, shades, and overall texture, and learn how to achieve grace and lightness. We will see why this classic form has earned its place as an important benchmark in lettering history.
